What is the JB Warren/International Harvester Collectors Club, KS Chapter 3 Scholarship?

Kansas Chapter 3’s purpose is to promote, preserve and educate others on the International Harvester brand and the company’s history. The objective of the program is to promote awareness of and interest in the International Harvester Company and their products to the next generation and promote interest in Chapter 3. The program is named in honor of JB Warren in appreciation of his donation of funds to make this program possible.

 

How much is an academic scholarship?

The scholarship is $1000 and covers tuition or housing only. The scholarship will be applied in two installments of $500 per semester/quarter.

Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?

Applicants must be a US citizen/Kansas resident, high school senior or a graduate within the past two years, have cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or higher, accepted into a two-year or four-year program resulting in a degree at an accredited technical/trade (Vo-tech) school, college, or university. Applicants must be and maintain full-time status (minimum of 12 credit hrs/ semester/quarter)

How are recipients selected?

The recipient will be selected based on the submittal package, work experience, interest in International Harvester and participation in school and community activities.

 

What is required to apply?

  • Fill out and submit the Registration form.

  • Provide a copy of your High School transcript.

  • Write and submit an essay of not less than 500 or more than 1,000 words,

  • Provide a Letter of Recommendation from a school counselor, instructor, or employer with corresponding contact information.

What are the recipient’s obligations?

The winning applicant shall be willing to accept a free one (1) year membership in Chapter 3. The selected applicant agrees to attend a Chapter 3 meeting to be recognized and accept the scholarship.

How will payment be made?

Payment will be made directly to the school’s tuition or housing office noted on the application form.

 

Can winning applicants apply again?

Winning applicants are not eligible to apply again but they are eligible to apply to the International Harvester Collectors National Trust Scholarship program for a second scholarship opportunity.
